Place Your Bet

2:32a.m outside of Indianapolis, very quite and still.  At a four way stop light the light turns red, and at that time two cars stop. It is a black 1994 Honda Civic Ex with a Skunk2 exhaust system, bolted to a luscious turbo B18, 17” Ray Rims, and with a beautiful midnight black painted body. The other vehicle is a 1997 Nissan 240sx (Silvia S14) with 17’ TenzoR Rims, screaming Sr20det, painted in a delicious gun metal silver.

The 240sx roars his Sr20det showing no fear telling his opponent, “You want to race?” The Civic laughs at the 240sx because he thinks this is no competition so he thinks he’s got this one. So answers with a high roar of his JDM Vtec engine.  Both ready hands gripping the shift knobs, feet on the clutches and gas pedal while headlights starring in the night. Both cars engines roar with eagerness.  Before the light they place their bets. Each car placing their bet around 1 grand.

Green!! The two shoot off. The RPM light blinking red to shift .The civic shifts into second gear.  The 240sx misses second gear, but double clutches to regain speed. The Civic takes control of the 240sx by pulling ahead. The Civic was acting a little cocky after pulling ahead, but the 240sx has more surprises and he fakes the Civic so he could get by him. He shifts into 4th gear while blazing down the pavement.  The two cars had to weave in and out of traffic trying to get advantage of the other. The civic shifts into 4th and catches up to the 240sx. Just nose and nose with in each other. Just seconds left until the quarter mile is done. The 240sx hits 5th gear and blows the Civic away. He couldn’t believe it. He got out and gave his grand to him. Right after they got in their cars someone called the cops and the blue and red lights were blinking down 40. They both went quickly accelerating to get away. They raced into different directions so they couldn’t catch  them both.

The Civic goes in a nearby driveway, which goes into the woods. The cop went right by him, and he gave a sigh of relief. The 240 turned on to a country road hoping he would lose the cop, but not any chance. The cop stays right with him. He drives in a near by town avoiding traffic as much as possible. He sees an alley so he drives right into it with no hesitation. The cop zooms by not realizing that he wasn’t ahead of him. The 240sx drives back to his home with victory.
